Nearby cities have begun to see economic recovery, yet most of Northwest Pennsylvania is still falling behind. We have opportunities for growth, but we're not taking advantage of them because Washington would rather shut down the government than find solutions. I'm running for Congress because we need new leadership to get our economy moving again.
Dan LaVallee is running for Congress because we need new leadership to get our economy moving. While nearby cities are starting to recover, Northwest Pennsylvania is still falling behind. We are missing opportunities for growth – and Washington, DC would rather shut down the government than find solutions.
Dan got his Bachelors and Master’s degrees while playing basketball at Carnegie Mellon, and later worked to ensure families and individuals received quality, affordable, health coverage. His family has lived in Western Pennsylvania for a century, where they owned and operated Kunst Bakery in Pittsburgh for over fifty years.
After the tragic death of his brother, Dan’s family was instrumental in starting the Caring Place for Grieving Children. Dan attended their programs as a kid and as an adult has spent countless hours volunteering to provide a supportive, welcome, and helpful environment for other kids who have lost loved ones.
Dan will take his commitment to the region and compassion for those struggling to make ends meet to Washington, where he will bring new, energetic leadership to focus on job creation in Northwestern Pennsylvania and on growing our local economy. Dan supports more partnerships between universities and local businesses, investing in job training, leveraging Western Pennsylvania’s energy resources, creating a more level playing field for American workers, and tackling Washington’s irresponsible and reckless spending habits.
